BWAF Pages Online Supplement 10/26/09

Greetings, Friends!

Welcome to the very first issue of the BWAF Pages Online Supplement!
The BWAF Pages is "Almost As Good As Word of Mouth" - "A Community Resource Directory & Coupon Book" to be published and released at the 7th Annual Black Women's Arts Festival (July 29th - Aug 1st, 2010). The website is http://BWAFpages.com and we have created this “Online Supplement” for up-to-the-moment news and updates from our community of black women artists, friends, and allies. (To receive it in your inbox, please join the official BWAF Mailing List at http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/BWAFphilly).
Although we will be using the standard method of charging specific advertising rates and receiving those payments to fund the publication of the print version and cover our other costs, we are trying something new in attracting the funds to allow us to compile your news and release them in our supplement - free will donations!

We are trying an honor system of offering this as a pseudo-"free" community service. Anyone can submit listings, with or without payment. Pay what you can when you can, and when you can't, if there's space and your news seems exciting or something that could be of use to our communities, we'll spread the word and promote your cause by publishing your listing for free. We're hoping that the free will donations we receive from readers, contributors, and/or fans of BWAF, will cover our website hosting costs as well as our wages for spending the time it takes to compile, edit, and post the supplement on our various social networks (including MySpace, Facebook, Yahoo, and Craigslist).

We plan to release the BWAF Pages Online Supplement at least twice a month.

Peace! My name is Megan Jenifer and I first learned about BWAF through my friend and sis, Monica McIntyre. We both grew up together playing in the DC Youth Orchestra Program. I am a violinist like her sister Marcia. I currently teach private violin lessons; however, I wanted to include the following information about myself and my company:
