Monica McIntyre here with the latest from Philadelphia's 6th Annual Black Women's Arts Festival, July 30-August 2, 2009; a festival of talent featuring: dance, theater, fine arts, music, performance arts, film, workshops, and vendors. Save The Date!!

So many new things to tell you...

Seeking Volunteers:
We are still in need of a Vendor Coordinator (plot out floor plans for vending spaces, keep on top of vendor payments, be the main liason between BWAF & Vendors) and Street Team Members (outgoing spirits needed to flier at specific events, helping with online promotions (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, mass emailing/forwarding etc...) if you're interested, please email us at: BWAFphilly(at)yahoo.com.

Confirmed 2009 Venues:
We are honored to have more venues this year then ever before!

The Arts Garage, Big Blue Marble, Circle of Hope, Green Line Cafe, Kaffa Crossing, Metropolitan Bakery, The Rotunda, Studio 34, and *Vivant Art Collection. *Vivant Art Collection with proprietor Florcy Morriset is our most recent 2009 addition, yeah!!

Thrifting For A Good Cause:

BWAF Goes Global:
So we have partnered with web.illish.us, a webcasting & new media production company, for 2009. This means various days of BWAF 2009 will be broadcast live via the web!! If you or someone you know wish to host a screening event in your home (doesn't matter where you live) contact us asap BWAFphilly(at)yahoo.com.

BWAF Commercials:
Make a commercial (if you have iMovie, a dig video, a camera phone, etc...). You can go to our website for details about BWAF and wax poetical about its goodness (20-40secs) then email the footage in to BWAFphilly(at)yahoo.com w/ "commercial" in the heading. We made some on Monday June 15, 2009, they're coming soon!

2009 Submissions Are Closed:
How sad but somewhat exciting, why you ask? Because it means the festival is creeping ever closer! We are still seeking vendors so send us an email if you're interested BWAFphilly(at)yahoo.com.

BWAF T-Shirts Coming Soon:
Yes, you will soon be able to sashay, bling, and show your swagga' in a fresh off the hand-screened presses BWAF t-shirt...look for us July 11th @ Clark Park's Uhuru Flea Market (43rd & Balt Ave, Philly).

Internships Available:
Are you interested in learning about the arts industry? Well look no further, we are now accepting unpaid interns to share our vast knowledge of the arts with.
